Getting Dino Trail ready…

Dino Trail

Number path puzzle · monthly season · every round counts for the board

About Dino Trail

Draw one trail through every square, past the numbered nests in order — three grids against the clock.

Dino Trail is a one-line number path puzzle. A grid of squares holds a few numbered nests. Starting on nest 1, draw a single trail with your finger or mouse that passes through every square exactly once — up, down, left or right, never diagonally, never crossing itself — and reaches the nests in order, ending on the highest number.

It sounds simple, and the first steps are. The trick is not to paint yourself into a corner: a square left behind can never be reached again. Every grid has at least one way through, and any trail that keeps the rules counts. A round is three grids, five, six and seven squares across; your time for all three, measured by our server, goes on the monthly leaderboard, which resets on the 1st of every month at 00:00 UTC.

How to play

  1. Press Start. The first grid appears with its numbered nests, and the clock starts.
  2. Put your finger (or mouse) on nest 1 and draw: the trail follows you from square to square.
  3. Go back over your own trail to undo it, or tap any square of it to cut the trail back to there.
  4. Pass every square exactly once and reach the nests in order. The trail must end on the last nest.
  5. Finish a grid and the next, bigger one appears. Complete all three to finish.
  6. Sign in to put your time on the monthly board.

Tips

  • A corner that is not the start or finish uses both neighbours. A corner endpoint uses only one connection, so check the numbered ends first.
  • Never leave a single square cut off — if one has only one free neighbour left, the trail must end there, and only the last nest may.
  • Look ahead to the next nest and count: you need to sweep every square on the way, not just reach it.
  • Sweeping a whole row or column at a time is often the cleanest way to fill an area.
  • Stuck? Cut the trail back a few squares and try the other turn — it is quicker than starting again.

Guides

Questions players ask

Is there only one right trail?

Often there are several. Any trail that passes every square once and reaches the nests in order counts.

When does the leaderboard reset?

On the 1st of every month at 00:00 UTC. The final standings are kept: the top three of each month receive an honour on their profile, and your best time never resets.

How is my time measured?

By our server, from the moment the first grid is shown until it receives your last finished trail. The server checks every trail itself.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Press Start and you play straight away under a guest name. Sign in with an account you already have to put your time on the monthly leaderboard.
