About Dino Springs
Dino Springs is a pipe puzzle for one finger. A spring bubbles up in the middle of the board, and thirsty dinosaurs wait at the ends of a network of pipes that reaches every tile. The trouble is that every tile has been turned the wrong way. Tap a tile to turn it a quarter turn; water runs at once through every pipe joined to the spring, so you can see how far it gets. When no pipe is left open and every dinosaur is drinking, the board is done.
There are no loops and no spare pipes: every opening must meet another, and every tile must join the spring. Corners near the edge can only turn one or two ways, which is where most solvers start. Medium, seven tiles by seven, counts for the weekly leaderboard, which resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC; Easy is five by five and Hard nine by nine.
How to play
- Pick a level — Medium is the ranked one — and press Start. The clock starts as the board appears.
- Tap or click a tile to turn it a quarter turn clockwise. Right-click turns it back.
- Water runs through every pipe joined to the spring. A dinosaur at the end of a watered pipe stops looking thirsty.
- Every opening must meet the opening of the tile next to it, and no pipe may point off the board.
- When every tile is joined to the spring with nothing left open, the board is solved and your time is recorded.
- Sign in to put your time on the weekly leaderboard.
Tips
- Start at the edges: a pipe there cannot point outwards, which rules out most of its turns.
- A straight pipe only has two ways to lie, and a cross has one. Settle them early.
- Follow the water out from the spring, and fix each tile as soon as it can only go one way.
- Two dead ends side by side cannot face each other: the network has no closed pieces.
- Right-click (or a second, third and fourth tap) undoes a turn — a wrong guess costs only seconds.
Questions players ask
Is there only one right answer?
Any way of turning the tiles that joins every tile to the spring, with no pipe left open, counts — even if it differs from the board we started from.
When does the leaderboard reset?
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC. The final standings are kept: the top three of each week receive an honour on their profile, and your all-time best never resets.
How is my time measured?
By our server, from the moment the board is shown until it receives your finished network. The server checks the network itself, so only a whole one counts.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Press Start and you play straight away under a guest name. Sign in with an account you already have to put your time on the weekly leaderboard.
